MIQOT: Jurnal Ilmu-Ilmu Keislaman is a peer-reviewed academic journal, established in 1976 as part of the UIN Sumatera Utara Medan. MIQOT is dedicated to the publication of scholarly articles in various branches of Islamic Studies, by which exchanges of ideas as research findings is facilitated. MIQOT encourages scholarly articles that adopt a multi-disciplinary approach to the specified topics. MIQOT is an open-access journal where researchers from any country or region with an interest in Islam and its historical and geographical manifestations, both within the Islamic World and beyond, can submit their articles to MIQOT. The journal’s aim is to promote scientific publications on Islam and Muslim culture, covering a wide range of textual, historical, and empirical aspects across classical, medieval, modern, and contemporary periods.
MIQOT has been nationally accredited as scientific journal for several times. First, through the Letter of Dirjend DIKTI Depdiknas RI No. 02/DIKTI/Kep./2002. Second, SK Dirjend DIKTI Kemendiknas No. 64a/DIKTI/Kep/2010. Third, SK Kemendikbud RI No. 040/P/2014. Fourth, Keputusan Direktur Jenderal Pendidikan Tinggi, Riset dan Teknologi, dan Kementrian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi Republik Indonesia No. 152/E/KPT/2023, 25 September 2023.
